Terms of Service — BRO

Effective date: 15 September 2026 · Last updated: 15 September 2026

These terms explain the agreement between you and BRO when you use it. We've kept them as plain as our privacy policy. By using BRO, you're agreeing to them — so if anything here doesn't sit right, please don't use BRO.

1. What BRO is

BRO is a pattern-tracking and summary tool that helps you record symptoms, appointments, medications, and health-related information in a calm, non-diagnostic way — and, when you choose, pull it together into a summary you can share with a clinician. It's a record-keeping and pattern-noticing tool, nothing more and nothing less.

2. BRO is not medical advice or a diagnosis

This is the most important thing on this page: BRO is not a medical device, and it does not give medical advice.

BRO does not diagnose, treat, monitor, or make clinical decisions. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified healthcare professional. It is there to help you keep a record and notice patterns — the kind of thing you can take to a professional, not in place of one.

Always speak to your doctor or another suitably qualified professional about any health concern. If you are in crisis or may be in danger, please contact your local emergency services straight away.

3. Who can use BRO

BRO is intended for adults and is not directed at children. The minimum age for digital consent differs by country (commonly between 13 and 16). If you are under the age of digital consent where you live, please use BRO only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

4. Your information stays on your device

Everything you record in BRO is stored only on the device and browser you use it on. We do not transmit, copy, back up, or have any access to it — as our Privacy Policy explains in full. In other words, what you put into BRO is yours, completely and immediately. By using BRO you also agree to that Privacy Policy.

5. No account, and looking after your device

BRO has no accounts and no sign-in. Because your information lives on your own device, looking after that device is what looks after your information: keep it locked, keep its software up to date, and be careful using BRO on shared or public devices. If you delete the app, or clear its data in your phone's settings, your BRO information is deleted — including from us, because we never held a copy.

6. Using BRO fairly

BRO is here for your own personal record-keeping. Please don't:

  • use it for any unlawful purpose, or to harm yourself or others;
  • try to disrupt, break, copy, scrape, or reverse-engineer it, or work around its limits;
  • resell it or use it commercially without our permission.

7. Exports and external links

BRO lets you export or share a summary — for example, to give to a clinician. Once it leaves your device it is under your control, so please handle it as you would any other personal medical document. Any links BRO points you to are run by other people; we don't control them and aren't responsible for their content.

8. Our content

BRO — its software, design, and words — belongs to us and is protected by intellectual-property law. You're given a personal, limited, non-transferable permission to use it for yourself. Everything you record in BRO, and anything you export from it, remains entirely yours.

9. Big Bro (not available in this version)

BRO is designed to offer an optional, premium AI companion — Big Bro. It is not available in this version of BRO, so there is nothing to turn on, and nothing in BRO sends your information anywhere (see our Privacy Policy).

If and when the companion is released, these terms will be updated first to set out how it may be used, alongside the Privacy Policy's account of what it sends and where it goes. Until then, everything in BRO works entirely on your device.

10. No warranties, and our liability

BRO is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We don't promise it will be accurate, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we won't be liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, BRO. Nothing in these terms removes or limits any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be removed or limited by law.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as BRO develops. If we make a significant change, we'll update the date at the top of this page and surface a notice in the app. Continuing to use BRO after a change means you accept the updated terms.

12. Stopping

You can stop using BRO at any time, and clearing your storage removes your information completely. We may update, change, or withdraw BRO, or parts of it, as it develops.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus, and any disputes will be dealt with by the courts there. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

14. Contact

If you have any questions about these terms, email us at hello@bigbro.org.uk.

BRO is built on the belief that your story belongs to you. These terms are written to protect that, not to claw any of it back.
